Each coin in the 1990 Proof Set was struck at the San Francisco Mint and so each coin features the "S" mint mark. Though it appears that some Lincoln Cents got away with no mint mark; about 3,500 are believed to have been minted of these "no S" Lincoln Cents. The five-coin set is comprised of: the Lincoln Cent, Jefferson Nickel, Roosevelt Dime, Washington Quarter and the Kennedy Half Dollar. The packaging for this set remained unchanged from the previous year with each of the coins fitting into individual holes of a purple cardboard holder. They were then sealed within a plastic lens and put into a purple colored box. This outer box featured silver printing that read, "United States Mint Proof Set 1990." |
This 1990-S U.S. Proof Coin Set GEM Proof OGP is proudly minted by the U.S. Mint. The United States Mint was founded in 1792 and manufactures circulating, collectible, and bullion coinage.
