Why add this 1990 Gold American Eagle to your collection?

The U.S. Mint released the first American Gold Eagle in 1986. Since that first issue the coin has simply become more popular with collectors for both its design and high precious metal content. This release was struck in 1990, only four years after the coins first introduction into the market. It has a weight of 1/4 Troy oz. and a metal purity of .9167 fine gold.

Featuring the highly-admired work of Augustus Saint-Gaudens!

The obverse features a rendition of the Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle. This iconic coin was first released in 1907, and it depicts the designs of sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens. The design has become a cornerstone in American coinage as it is highly admired by collectors for its strong depiction of lady Liberty. To the right of the image is the Mint mark, "P" for the Philadelphia Mint.

Depicted on the reverse is a family of eagles, the male eagle carries an olive branch to his awaiting mate and their young, this design was created by artist Miley Busiek.

Graded Proof 69 Ultra Cameo!

This coin received the second highest possible grade of Proof 69 by the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC). This grade is reserved for coins that have been well-struck, with only small, nearly imperceptible blemishes.
