Why add this 1988-S Olympics S$1 Dollar NGC PF70 UC to your collection?

This 1988-S Olympics Proof Silver Dollar was issued to raise money for the U.S. Olympic team ahead of the Seoul Games and features two designs that Olympic enthusiasts will appreciate. The obverse of the coin has “OLYMPIAD” inscribed at the top and “LIBERTY” at the bottom. Along the rim between the two words are branches. Hands that bear torches extend from those branches creating an upside down “V” shape, as the Olympic flame is passed from one to the next, just as it is during the long relay ahead of each Olympic Games. To the right is the year of the Games for which the coin raised funds, “1988,” along with the Mint mark, an “S,” of the San Francisco Mint. On the reverse of the coin, “USA” is inscribed above the Olympic rings. Branches mostly encircle that design, and other inscriptions include the country of issue and face value of the coin. This piece is .900 pure silver and consists of .7734 Troy oz. of the metal. Pick one up today and share in the history of the 1988 Olympics!
