This 1988-P $25 Gold Eagle was given the top grade Proof 70 Ultra Cameo from the industry leaders at the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC). 1988 marked the first year that the Mint offered the full range of fractional denomination Gold Eagles. They were all struck at the Nation's workhorse Mint at Philadelphia. This example contains 1/2 ounce AGW and was struck on a 22-karat gold planchet. It bears a $25 face value and features an attractive mintage of 76,528 coins.
