Why Choose This MS70 1986 American Silver Eagle Today?

1986 was the first year of issue for the American Silver Eagle. The US Mint struck 5,393,005 regular Silver Eagles in 1986. Today, the Silver Eagle is one of the most widely collected coins in the entire world and annual mintage figures for the standard bullion issue are in the tens of millions. This 1986 Silver Eagle is made of .999 fine silver and weighs 1 Troy oz. Liberty is depicted making her way across the horizon on the obverse. This is a modern version of Weinman’s Walking Liberty design. The reverse shows a heraldic bald eagle, the work of John Mercanti. This eagle is holding a bundle of arrows and an olive branch with its talons. There are 13 stars above the eagle’s head arranged in a triangular pattern.

This 1986 American Silver Eagle has been graded by NGC. Before assigning it a grade from their 70 point scale, the experts carefully examined this coin. Since no imperfections were found, it was awarded a perfect MS70 grade.
