Stunning Beauty of the Walking Liberty Design

Obverse: Lady Liberty is depicted walking on the obverse enveloped in the folds of the American flag. Inscribed "LIBERTY," "IN GOD WE TRUST" and "1986." This timeless personification of Liberty was originally struck on the 1916 Walking Liberty Half Dollar designed by Adolph A. Weinman, a prolific medallic and architectural sculptor of the early 20th century.

Reverse: A heraldic eagle clutching an olive branch and arrows adorns the reverse, surrounded by the inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "1 OZ. FINE SILVER," "ONE DOLLAR," "S" and "E PLURIBUS UNUM." This heraldic eagle graphic, designed by John Mercanti, the U.S. Mint's 12th Chief Engraver, represents the iconic Type-1 variety of the Silver Eagle, which was issued from 1986 until mid-2021.

Beautifully Struck Proof 69 Ultra Cameo

This 1986-S American Silver Eagle proof coin earned the nearly perfect grade of Proof 69 from the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC). For the exceptional amount of contrast between finishes, the coin was also awarded the Ultra Cameo (UC) designation. The virtually flawless coin is presented in a black core NGC protective holder accompanied by a certification label which has been hand-signed by John Mercanti.
