Why purchase this 1981-S Type II Susan B. Anthony Dollar Proof?
The Susan B. Anthony Series only ran for four years, including 1999, the coin's 20th anniversary. While not long a part of American currency, it is important because of the woman whom it celebrates. Susan B. Anthony was an important reformer and one of the most significant women in American history. This proof is perfect for anyone who honors her legacy.

Powerful Susan B. Anthony Design by Frank Gasparro
Both faces of this coin were designed by US Mint Chief Engraver Frank Gasparro. Obverse: The obverse bears a right-side portrait of Susan B. Anthony. To the right is the national motto, "IN GOD WE TRUST." Thirteen stars connect two inscriptions on the rim. Those inscriptions read, "LIBERTY," and "1981."
Reverse: The reverse design is modeled off of the Apollo 11 mission insignia. An eagle lands on the moo with its wings spread and a laurel branch in its talons. Just above is the statutory motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM," next to which is earth, which is off in the distance. Rim inscriptions provide the name of the issuing country, "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," and the coin's face value, "ONE DOLLAR."
Nearly Perfect PF69 UC
This coin earned Numismatic Guaranty Corporation's (NGC's) second highest grade, Proof 69, which means that it appears perfect to the naked eye. It was also certified Ultra Cameo due to its sharp contrasts between its heavily frosted devices and deeply mirrored fields.
