This Proof medal is made of sterling silver, it was struck by the Franklin Mint. The Franklin Mint is a private Mint that was founded in Pennsylvania. This medal was issued to mark Queen Elizabeth II's visit to the United States for the nation's bicentennial anniversary in 1976.

Detailed Depiction of Her Majesty

The obverse features a detailed portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty is looking to the right and a flower can be seen here as well. The upper inscription reads "H.M. QUEEN ELIZABETH II." This side is inscribed with "QUEEN OF GREAT BRITAIN AND NORTHERN IRELAND."

The Liberty Bell is pictured on the reverse. A high level of detail can be seen here and of course the Liberty Bell's characteristic crack is shown. This side of the medal is inscribed with "UNITED STATES BICENTENNIAL VISIT" and "JULY 1976."
