Why add the 1973 South Africa 2 Rand Gold to your collection?

This 1973 South Africa 2 Rand Gold can be yours in GEM Brilliant Uncirculated condition. This issue has a tiny mintage of 14,000 coins.

Struck by the South African Government from 1961-1983 this 2 Rand denomination coin is an excellent choice for a numismatic collector or a bullion enthusiast. South African gold coins have been sought after and traded internationally for decades. Each example contains .2354 oz. of gold, which is incidentally identical to the British Gold Sovereign.

The obverse of the coin features the portrait of Jan van Riebeck, the Dutch Colonial leader and the founder of Cape Town. The inscriptions include "Unity is Strength" written in Afrikaans and English. The engraver was Willie Myburg.

The reverse of the coin features the image of a Springbok, a variety of the antelope family which is native to South Africa. The denomination, 2 Rand, 1973 and inscription "South Africa" written in both English and Afrikaans also appear. This design is similar to the internationally ubiquitous Krugerrand. The designer is C.L. Steynberg.

GEM Brilliant Uncirculated coins are excellent condition examples that exhibit Mint luster and spectacular eye appeal.

Whether your intention is to diversify your precious metals holdings or the ultra-low mintage has your interest piqued, this 1973 South African 2 Rand in GEM BU condition is sure to please. Buy yours from ModernCoinMart today.
