1970-S US Mint Proof Set

The 1970 US Mint proof set marked the end of an era. This set is special because it was the last regular proof set to contain silver in any of the coins. The Kennedy half dollar in this set is 40% silver. The coins contained in this 1970 proof set were struck at the US Mint’s San Francisco branch.

1970 Proof Set with Original Government Packaging

This 1970 US proof set is still protected by the original government packaging. By 1970, the packaging used for proof sets was similar to what is used today. The coins are contained in a single hard plastic case which fits inside a regal cardboard box. Please note that since these sets were not purchased directly from the Mint, but from collectors and other secondary sources that the packaging may not be perfect. However, the coins inside are in GEM proof condition.

1970 S Proof Set Contents

The 1970 S US proof set contains 1 40% silver Kennedy half dollar. It also contains 1 Washington quarter, 1 Roosevelt dime, 1 Jefferson nickel, and 1 Lincoln cent. The Kennedy half dollar is the only coin in this set that contains silver.

The 1970 S US Mint proof set is unique and is a very affordable choice, order one for your collection today!

1970 Proof Set
Nice set. Reasonably priced. I am building a collection of every proof set since I was born in 1957. Filling in some blanks.

This was a gift, so........
The coins are in great shape and still brilliant. The packaging is a bit hammered as is to be expected considering it's age. Thus the four star instead of five.

1970 S- PROOF SET
Each coin had a glue type substance around its edge. Very disappointed.
