Robbins Style Apollo 11 Designs
The designs shown on this medal are based on the original Robbins medals that were struck for the Apollo 11 mission in 1969. The obverse is very similar to the Apollo 11 mission patch, it shows a bald eagle about to land on the moon's surface. This design also appears on the reverse of both the Eisenhower and Susan B. Anthony dollars.
The reverse is inscribed with the 50th anniversary dates. The major dates of the mission can also be seen here along with the last names of the astronauts.
