The Vietnam War is still discussed regularly by a number of Americans today. The Military Payment Certificate offered here is from the era of the Vietnam War, this style was issued from 1965 to 1968. It's from series 641. Like a federal reserve note, this certificate was printed by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing. Certificates like this one were issued to U.S. Military personnel stationed in Vietnam. These certificates could only be used on U.S. Military bases.
Series 641 50 Cent Design
Like the other fractional series 641 Military Payment Certificates, the obverse of this one shows the portrait of a woman on the left side. If you look to the right you can see the serial number of the certificate and the series number is just above that. The face value is displayed in multiple locations.
The reverse shows the face value in 3 locations and a detailed bald eagle is centered between them. The small print at the bottom of the design states the certificate's status and the terms of its use.
