Why Add This 1960s Dr. Pepper Point of Purchase Display Sign to Your Collection?

While there are some intriguing twists in the history of Coca-Cola, anyone who is interested can easily learn where the name came from. The same cannot be said for Dr. Pepper. The exact origin and meaning of the name have baffled experts for years. At least this mystery doesn't keep anyone from enjoying the beverage. In fact, while there are plenty of disagreements about the name, most can agree that the mystery makes Dr. Pepper memorabilia even more enjoyable to collect. There's just something fun about holding a piece of history that still has questions left to answer.

Fortunately, experts can agree on most of the other details about the history of Dr. Pepper. The beverage was first sold in 1885 at Morrison's Old Corner Drug Store in Waco, Texas. Charles Alderton, a pharmacist who worked there, came up with the formula. Soda fountains were really popular during this era, partly due to the widespread belief that the soda water could provide health benefits. Dr. Pepper was an instant hit with local customers and proceeded to hit the national market in 1904.

These Dr. Pepper point of purchase display signs are from the 1960s. They are in excellent unused condition and were taken from new old stock. You will also receive a certificate of authenticity. They measure 14" by 7" and are made of cardboard. Due to the material they're made of and how widely these were used, they are seldom seen today in excellent condition.
