Why buy this 1960 500 Dong South Vietnam Currency Note With Folder? The Vietnam War raged for nearly twenty years before the North overcame the South. When that happened, the victors rounded up and destroyed nearly all of the South Vietnamese currency. Fortunately, some notes were hidden during the fall of Saigon, which has since been renamed Ho Chi Minh City. The note remains in exceptional condition and comes in a protective folder along with a storycard and a certificate of authenticity. The note is both a historical monument to a fallen nation and a reminder of just how much was at stake in the Vietnam War. Stunning Tiger DesignThe note is extremely colorful, featuring shades of red and orange on the exterior. The obverse features the Palace of Independence, a Saigon landmark. It was the home and workplace of the South Vietnamese President. Today it is known as Reunification Hall. On the reverse is a vibrant image of an Indochinese tiger. The powerful creature has its head turned toward the holder. American soldiers sometimes encountered these creatures while on patrol. This face also bears several inscriptions in Vietnamese, as does the obverse. Don't miss your chance to own this South Vietnam 1960 500 Dong Currency Note With Folder. |
