Featuring Victor D. Brenner's Poignant Portrait of President Abraham Lincoln

Obverse: The obverse of this coin, like the reverse, was designed by Victor D. Brenner. This face features a right-side portrait of President Abraham Lincoln that is flanked by the inscriptions "LIBERTY" and "1957." The national motto, "IN GOD WE TRUST," is also inscribed on this face.

Reverse: At the center of the reverse are inscriptions of the coin's face value, "ONE CENT," and country, "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA." Two wheat ears flank these inscriptions along the rim. Above is the statutory motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM." Victor D. Brenner immigrated to the United States from the Russian Empire. He is best known for designing the Lincoln Cent.
