Moving President Abraham Lincoln Design by Victor D. Brenner

Obverse: Gracing the obverse is Victor D. Brenner's right-side portrait of President Abraham Lincoln. Lincoln is joined by three inscriptions. "LIBERTY" and "1955" are to the left and right, respectively, while the national motto, "IN GOD WE TRUST," is at the top of this face.

Reverse: Brenner's reverse has two ears of wheat flanking a pair of inscriptions. Those inscriptions are the coin's face value, "ONE CENT," and the country of issue, "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA." Above is the statutory motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM." Victor D. Brenner was born in the Russian Empire and immigrated to the United States. The Lincoln Cent is the most famous work of his career.
