The GREAT Satchel Paige

Leroy Robert "Satchel" Paige was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1971. He was the oldest player to debut in Major League baseball history at the age of 42. He retired at the age of 59 years old, making him the oldest player in professional baseball history. His career spanned an astounding five decades. In his MLB debut year of 1948, he led the Cleveland Indians to their American League pennant win and their World Series win. Hall of Famer Joe DiMaggio said that Satchel Paige was "the best and fastest pitcher I've ever faced."

Cards in this grade will typically have a few negative characteristics like heavy print spots, significant crease or holes, tears scuffing, small parts of the card missing, discoloration, rounded corners, fraying, and pen or pencil marks.
