Moving President Abraham Lincoln Design by Victor D. Brenner

Obverse: Like the reverse, the obverse was designed by Victor D. Brenner. This face bears a right-side portrait of President Abraham Lincoln. The image is flanked by the inscriptions "LIBERTY' and "1953." Above is an inscription of the national motto, "IN GOD WE TRUST."

Reverse: The coin's face value, "ONE CENT," and issuing country, "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," feature prominently on the reverse. On either side of the inscriptions is an ear of wheat. Above the inscriptions is the motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM." Victor D. Brenner emigrated from the Russian Empire in modern day Lithuania and immigrated to the United States. He is best known for designing the Lincoln Cent.
