Why Choose This 1950s Dr. Pepper Syrup Dispenser Mixing Vial?

Today we have a wide variety of soft drinks available for purchase practically anywhere you look. Many of the major brands and products have a well-documented history that answers any question you could ever have on the subject. The exception to this is Dr. Pepper. The big mystery with this soft drink is where the name came from. We know who named it, but experts still don't know why or exactly what the name was supposed to mean or imply. At any rate, the mystery of the Dr. Pepper name just makes the memorabilia that much more interesting.

Dr. Pepper was served for the first time in 1885, which makes it just a year older than Coca-Cola. The beverage was first sold in Waco, Texas at Morrison's Old Corner Drug Store and was owned by Wade Morrison at that time and he was the one who named the new soft drink. Dr. Pepper was formulated by a pharmacist who worked there, Charles Alderton. Soda fountains were particularly popular during this period in history and Alderton's new formula was a big hit with customers. Within 20 years the drink would head to the national market.

The piece offered here is a Dr. Pepper syrup dispenser mixing vial from the 1950s. Old soda fountains were not very similar to the machines we have today. This vial is in excellent condition, it even comes with a certificate of authenticity. It measures 4" by 1.5" which makes it an easy piece to find room for.
