Both faces of this coin are graced by designs by Adolph Weinman. Obverse: On the obverse is the iconic Walking Liberty design. The sun emerges from beyond the horizon as Liberty carries laurel and oak branches while draped in the American flag in the foreground. Obverse inscriptions include "LIBERTY," "IN GOD WE TRUST," and "1945."
Reverse: An eagle stands proudly on a mountain crag with its wings spread on the reverse. "E PLURIBUS UNUM" is inscribed to the left. The name of the issuing country, "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," and the face value of the coin, "HALF DOLLAR," are inscribed along the rim.
