Featuring the Stunning Walking Liberty Design of Adolph Weinman

Obverse: Both faces of this coin bear designs that were created by Adolph Weinman. The morning sun begins to rise on the obverse as Liberty strides confidently carrying laurel and oak branches. Her name, "LIBERTY," spreads out along the rim, while the national motto, "IN GOD WE TRUST," is on the right and the date, "1942," is on the bottom.

Reverse: On the reverse, an eagle spreads its wings while perched on a mountain crag. A mountain pine sapling extends from a crack in the rock as a symbol of America. The statutory motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM" is inscribed to the left, while "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and "HALF DOLLAR" are inscribed above and below the bird, respectively. Adolph Weinman designed two of the most collected historic American coins, the Walking Liberty Half Dollar and the Mercury Dime. In addition to these and other numismatic contributions, Weinman was also a sculptor, and his work can be seen in numerous American cities to this day.
