This 1928-B $1 Silver Certificate FR#1602 (HB Block) Woods - Mills was graded by Paper Money Guaranty (PMG) at the Gem Uncirculated 65 level and achieved the coveted Exceptional Paper Quality designation. PMG is the paper money division of Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC). This bill was printed between February 1932 and March 1933 and bears the signatures of W.O. Woods and Ogden L. Mills who were in office together during that period. This silver certificate is the first smaller-format note the U.S. has printed.
Classic "Funnyback" design
The obverse of this note features the familiar portrait of George Washington still in use today on the $1 bill. This issue features a bright blue seal to the left of the portrait and blue serial numbers. The reverse of the note features a large engraving of the word "one" in capital letters and the words "one dollar" superimposed over that.
