Moving Native American Design by Bela Lyon Pratt

Obverse: Both faces of this coin bear incuse designs by Bela Lyon Pratt. The obverse image is that of a Native American man wearing a feathered headdress. Along the rim are thirteen stars, which represent the original states, and the inscriptions "LIBERTY" and "1927."

Reverse: Pratt's eagle design graces the reverse. The bird stands perched on arrows between the inscriptions "E PLURIBUS UNUM" and "IN GOD WE TRUST." "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" is inscribed at the top of the rim, and the coin's face value, "2 1/2 DOLLARS," is inscribed at the bottom of it. Bela Lyon Pratt attended Yale's School of Fine Arts. He went on to become a sculptor and is known for the Indian Head Quarter Eagle and Half Eagle, which are known as "the Pratt coins."

Uncirculated MS62 with Green Label

This coin's grade comes on a NGC's prestigious Green Label. The Green Label is a collaboration between Rare Coin Company of America (RARCOA) and Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC). The presence of this label indicates that a coin was first examined by RARCOA and found to meet the organization's guidelines referring to elements such as luster, strike, toning, and eye-appeal, before then being submitted to NGC where it is graded. NGC gave the coin a Mint State 62 grade, which means that it has roughly an average strike and does not have any traces of wear.
