Why order this $2.50 Gold 1927 Indian Head Quarter Eagle?
Bela Lyon Pratt's Indian Head Quarter Eagle and Half Eagle are unique among coins in American history in that the designs and lettering are incuse rather than raised from the surface of the coin. While this created some consternation among collectors, who had trouble stacking the coins, and consumers, who found that dust and debris gathered in them, it also makes the coins essential to any collection of historic pieces. This 1927 piece is an excellent choice for a type coin.
