Why add the 1926 Silver Peace Dollar PCGS MS64 to your collection?

This 1926 Silver Peace Dollar is an excellent example coming in with a high Mint State 64 (MS64) grade from Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS). The Peace dollar was struck by the U.S. Mint to commemorate the end of World War I, the "War to end all wars" at the suggestion of San Francisco Numismatic dealer Farren Zerbe. Artist Anthony de Francisci was the eventual winner of the design contest.

  • The Peace dollar contains .7734 oz. of silver struck on a .900 "coin silver" planchet.
  • This coin was struck at the Philadelphia branch of the U.S. Mint.
  • 4,820 examples of this issue exist in the MS64 grade, according to PCGS population records as of 11/24/2020.
  • This blazer would be an excellent type coin.

Youthful Liberty Obverse

Obverse: The obverse features the portrait of a "young and vital" Liberty, reflecting the vibrancy and optimism of the 1920s in America. She faces left with a crown of rays emanating from behind her head.

Reverse: The reverse image is an Eagle at rest on a mountain peak. Rays emanate from behind with the word "Peace" centered below the image. This is the only circulating U.S. coin to feature that inscription.

Lustrous MS64 Example

Mint State 64 business strikes of this age are sought after by collectors. They feature brilliant, lustrous original surfaces and no apparent evidence of handling. They are well struck and have minute imperfections that tend to not be distracting.

One of the classic designs in American Coinage, this PCGS graded 1926 MS64 Silver Peace Dollar would be an outstanding addition to any collection. Order yours from ModernCoinMart today.
