Struck from 0.9675 Troy oz. of .900 fine gold, this Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle does not carry a Mint mark, confirming is production by the Philadelphia Mint. Mintage of the 1926 release is reported to be 816,750.

Iconic Portrayal of Lady Liberty

The obverse features Lady Liberty confidently striding forward carrying a torch of freedom and an olive branch with the sun rising behind, a powerful design meant to symbolize determination and progress of the United States. The image is surrounded by forty-eight stars, accompanied by the inscriptions "LIBERTY" and "1926."

The reverse depicts a spectacular eagle soaring above rays of the rising sun. "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and "TWENTY DOLLARS" are inscribed curving above the eagle, with "IN GOD WE TRUST" below.
