Why add the 1926-P Indian Head $10 Gold Eagles NGC MS64 Green Label to your collection?

These 1926-P Indian Head $10 Gold Eagles NGC MS64 Green Label are wonderful historic coins. This piece qualified for NGC's Green Label, which the result of a collaboration between the grading company and Rare Coin Company of America (RARCOA), one of the leading numismatic distributors in the United States.

  • Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) has evaluated and graded each of these examples at Mint State 64 (MS64).
  • The coin was encapsulated with NGC's prestigious Green Label.
  • Each coin is struck on a 90% gold, 10% copper planchet with guaranteed original gold bullion weight of .48375 oz.
  • The series is among the final circulating gold struck by the United States Mint.
  • This example was struck at the Philadelphia branch of the Mint.
  • This classic of American coinage was designed by Augustus Saint-Gaudens.

Highly Collectible Classic American Design

Obverse: The obverse of the coin features Lady Liberty in left profile wearing an Indian Head dress. The year is centered beneath Liberty's portrait. Thirteen stars appear overhead.

Reverse: The reverse image is that of an American Bald Eagle gripping a clutch of arrows that is encircled with an olive branch. Famously, the first two years of issue did not include the motto "In God We Trust" but were included on the reverses from part way through the second year until the conclusion of the series.

Desirable Grade in a Tough Series

MS64 coins have very attractive, largely unblemished surfaces. The series is tough due to the large field to the left of Liberty's face which is prone to marking. The nose and cheek of Liberty tend to get bag marks in lower grades. This coin qualified for NGC's Green Label. The Green Label is only awarded to coins that before being submitted to NGC, were selected by RARCOA for including factors such as eye-appeal, strike, luster, or toning. Only coins that meet these strict standards qualify to carry NGC's Green Label, giving collectors the opportunity to identify superior quality coins that have undergone this additional scrutiny on top of NGC's certification process.
