Why add the 1926 Indian Head With Motto $10 Gold Eagle NGC MS63 to your collection?

Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) authenticated this 1926 Indian Head $10 Gold Eagle and graded it at the solidly collectible Mint State 63 (MS63) level This design was struck by the United States Mint in the years between 1907 and 1932. These coins were famously redesigned at the request of President Theodore Roosevelt. The most famous artist in America at the turn of the 20th Century, Augustus Saint-Gaudens, the famous sculptor and teacher was the artist. These coins contain .48375 oz. of gold bullion and were struck on 90% pure gold coin blanks. This series did not escape the gold melts of the 1930s. A portion of the coins from this very desirable and wildly popular series have been melted and many of the specimens available today have spent decades in bank vaults overseas.

"$10 Indian" Design

The obverse design shows Liberty wearing a feathered head dress. She appears beneath thirteen stars representing the original thirteen colonies. The Eagle featured on the reverse holds arrows and an olive branch. This design features the motto "In God We Trust" unlike the earliest examples from 1907.

Solidly Desirable MS63

Mint State 63 coins are lustrous examples with very pleasant eye appeal. There will be some scattered contact marks in this grade due to the history of most examples spending time in canvas bags in bank vaults.
