Why add the 1926-D Silver Peace Dollar PCGS MS63 to your collection?

This 1926-D Silver Peace Dollar was graded at the solidly collectible Mint State 63 (MS63) level by the experts at Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS). Artist Anthony de Francisci based the Liberty depiction on this coin on his wife Teresa Cafarelli. This depiction of Liberty was new, youthful and reflected the optimism of the 1920s.

  • The issue was struck at the Denver branch of the U.S. Mint.
  • The series is struck on a 90% silver planchet that contains .7734 oz. of silver.
  • PCGS population reports show only 1,738 coins in this grade as of 11/24/2020.

Young Liberty Obverse Design

Obverse: The obverse features the left facing portrait of Liberty. She is shown wearing a tiara of rays with hair flowing loosely behind.

Reverse: The reverse features a bald eagle perched on a rocky outcrop. The word "Peace" is superimposed on the outcrop. This is the only circulation coinage series in the history of the U.S. to bear that inscription. The eagle holds an olive branch while the image is bathed in rays of sunlight.

MS63 Beauty

MS63 coins will have average mint luster and will exhibit small contact marks, hairlines or scuffs. A few scattered heavy marks may be apparent. The general quality of the strike and surfaces will be average. Overall, coins in this grade are attractive and sought after additions to every collector's holdings.
