Historic Incuse Liberty Design by Bela Lyon Pratt

Obverse: Both faces of this coin bear designs by Bela Lyon Pratt. On the obverse is a left-side portrait of a Native American man wearing a feathered headdress. His image is encircled by thirteen stars and two inscriptions, "LIBERTY" and "1925."

Reverse: On the reverse, an eagle stands proudly perched on arrows, which are wrapped in an olive branch. Flanking the bird are the statutory inscriptions "E PLURIBUS UNUM" and "IN GOD WE TRUST." The name of the issuing country, "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," and the face value of the coin, "2 1/2 DOLLARS," are inscribed along the rim. Bela Lyon Pratt was a sculptor from Norwich, Connecticut.
