Magnificent Saint-Gaudens Coin Design
Obverse: The design on the obverse features the standing figure of Lady Liberty, holding the Torch of Enlightenment high overhead in her right hand. In her left hand she firmly grasps the olive branch of Peace.
Reverse: The reverse of the coin features a spectacular and powerful flying bald eagle. The eagle is backlit by the rays of the rising sun. President Theodore Roosevelt wanted to change the long-running coinage designs at the turn of the century. He approached the famous artist Augustus Saint-Gaudens to work on this redesign project.
MS64 Green Label Classic for your Collection
Mint State 64 (MS 64) coins are fully uncirculated examples. Coins in the solid MS64 grade have good overall mint luster and are well-struck. Small grouped contact marks are permissible in this grade. They tend to be attractive with pleasing eye appeal. Prior to undergoing NGC's certification and encapsulation process Chicago-based RARCOA determined that this example featured characteristics such as outstanding eye-appeal, razor-sharp strike, booming luster, or attractive toning. Only coins that meet RARCOA's strict standards are awarded the NGC Green Label allowing collectors to recognize superior quality coins.
