Why add this 1923 Silver Peace Dollar to your collection of historic American coinage?
The United States Mint's Peace Dollar, as the name suggests, was designed and issued as a means to symbolize and celebrate the restoration of peace in the country following the devastation of the First World War. This 1923 example from the series' third year of issue was struck at the Philadelphia Mint from 0.7734 Troy oz. of .900 fine silver measuring 38.1 mm in diameter, its final mintage reported to be 30,800,000.
