The Silver Peace Dollar was a product of the U.S. Mint for a total of ten years, consecutively from 1921 until 1928, and then for two final years in 1934 and 1935. The Peace Dollar was the last circulating dollar denomination coin struck from silver to be issued by the U.S. Mint. Design of the series, by Italian-American sculptor Anthony de Francisci, celebrates the restoration of peace after the First World War.

Obverse: The left facing image of Lady Liberty wearing a magnificent radiate crown is featured on the obverse, with her hair flowing loosely away from her young face. "LIBERTY" curves above, with "IN GOD WE TRUST" and the date of issue "1923" inscribed below.

Reverse: A bald eagle is illustrated on the reverse standing on a boulder bearing the inscription "PEACE," as rays of sunlight emanate from the lower right. Additional inscriptions include "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "E PLURIBUS UNUM," and the coin's denomination of "ONE DOLLAR."
