Why add this exceptionally graded 1923-P Silver Peace Dollar to your collection?

The U.S. Mint’s Peace Dollar series was issued from 1921-1935, representing the final circulating one dollar denomination coin of the United States to be minted with silver. The powerful design of the series, which honors the restoration of peace after the conclusion of the First World War, is the work of acclaimed Italian-American sculptor Anthony de Francisci.

  • This Silver Peace Dollar was struck in 1923 at the Philadelphia Mint.
  • The coin is crafted from 0.7734 Troy oz. of .900 fine silver.
  • The silver dollar measures 38.10 mm in diameter.
  • The NGC’s prestigious Green Label was bestowed upon the impressively graded coin.
  • Final mintage is reported to be 30,800,000 pieces.

Inspiring Design of the Peace Dollar

Obverse: The obverse features an exquisitely rendered portrait of Lady Liberty as a young woman wearing a stunning radiate tiara. The declaration “LIBERTY” curves above, with “IN GOD WE TRUST” and the date of issue “1923” inscribed below.

Reverse: A bald eagle is portrayed on the reverse standing on a boulder carrying the inscription “PEACE,” as rays of sunlight emanate from the lower right. Additional inscriptions include “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” along with the coin’s denomination of “ONE DOLLAR.”

Magnificent Mint State 66

This 1923-P Silver Peace Dollar coin was submitted to the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) for review. The coin was awarded the remarkably high grade of Mint State 66 for its exceptionally sharp strike, breathtaking amount of original Mint luster and tremendous eye appeal. The silver dollar is presented in a sonically sealed NGC holder with a prestigious green style certification label. The green label was developed as a result of a partnership between the NGC and RARCOA (Rare Coin Company of America). To earn the green label, before the coin is submitted to NGC for certification, the coin also met or exceeded quality standards referencing strike, luster and eye appeal, which were established by a group of numismatic experts at RARCOA, ensuring only coins of exceptional quality qualify for the Green Label.
