New Liberty Design for a New Age
Obverse: Lady Liberty is shown with lips parted, wearing a tiara comprised of rays and her hair flowing in the wind. Her youthful appearance captures the optimism of America moving past the Great War.
Reverse: The reverse features a bald eagle holding an olive branch while perched on a rocky outcrop. The rising sun lights up the sky behind the eagle. The word "Peace" appears beneath the eagle and is the only time this word appears on American coinage.
Mint State 65 Brilliance Green Label Confidence
The Mint State 65 grade features few distractions with a strike and mint luster that is well above average. There will few very light hairlines, scuffs or contact marks. These will tend not to distract from the overall eye appeal or the coin. Examples in this grade must have excellent eye appeal. A partnership between NGC and Rare Coin Company of America (RARCOA) resulted in the creation of the Green label style. In order to receive the renowned Green certification mark, a coin must first fulfill a series of requirements created by RARCOA regarding strike, luster, toning, and eye appeal, prior to NGC completing its own rigorous review for authentication and grading.
