Why purchase this Mint State 65, 1923-A Germany 200 Mark coin?

This 200 Mark coin was produced at the Berlin Mint in 1923, during the post-World War I era of German history when the nation was known as the Weimar Republic. The Republic years (1919-1933) were wrought with increasing economic crisis, as the nation experienced a period of hyperinflation due to over-production of monies to pay the reparations required by the Treaty of Versailles. This hyperinflation coin of the Weimar Republic measures 23 mm in diameter, struck from 1 gram of aluminum. Mintage is reported to be 174,900,000.

Distinctive Patriotic Design by German sculptor Josef Wackerle

The Coat of Arms of the Weimar Republic is featured on the obverse, a left facing heraldic eagle. Inscribed "EINIGKEIT UND RECHT UND FREIHEIT," representing the motto of the Republic: "Unity and Justice and Freedom."

"DEUTSCHES REICH," which translates as "German Realm," encircles the coin's denomination "200 MARK" and year of issue "1923" on the reverse. "A," representing the mark of the Berlin Mint, appears below with a flower on either side.
