Why add a 1921 Morgan Silver Dollar to your collection?

The Morgan Silver Dollar series was launched by the U.S. Mint in 1878, then issued annually through 1904. The series returned for a final year of issue in 1921, prior to its replacement by the Peace Dollar the same year. The Morgan Dollar, which was a symbol for liberty and the country's prosperity in the late 19th century, was designed by George T. Morgan, the Mint's seventh Chief Engraver.

  • This is a final year of issue 1921 Morgan Silver Dollar!
  • The coin is a product of the Philadelphia Mint.
  • The coin is struck from 26.73 grams of .900 fine silver with a 38.10 mm diameter.
  • Final mintage is reported to be 44,690,000 coins.

Magnificent Silver Dollar Imagery

Obverse: The obverse features Liberty personified as a young woman wearing a Phrygian cap ornamented with a garland of wheat, cotton and oak, along with the declaration of "LIBERTY" on the headband. Originally worn by the emancipated slaves of ancient Rome, the Phrygian cap evolved to symbolize the pursuit of liberty during the American Revolution. The image is encircled by thirteen stars, the inscription "E PLURIBUS UNUM" and the date "1921."

Reverse: An eagle with outstretched wings is depicted on the reverse, clutching a bundle of arrows and an olive branch. A ribbon-tied wreath of laurel curves below the eagle, while the national motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" appears between the tips of its wings. Surrounding inscriptions include "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and "ONE DOLLAR." The absence of a Mint mark serves a confirmation of the coin's Philadelphia Mint origin.

Beautiful Mint State 63 Condition

This 1921 Morgan Silver Dollar earned the impressive grade of Mint State 63 from either the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) or the Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS). Expect the coin to feature a sharp strike, a significant amount of original Mint luster and exceptional eye appeal. The coin will arrive encapsulated in a sonically sealed protective holder accompanied by a NGC or PCGS certification label.
