The Morgan silver dollar gets its name from its designer, George T. Morgan. The obverse shows Morgan's depiction of Liberty. Just below Liberty, the date is displayed. It can be found among 13 stars.

The reverse shows Morgan's bald eagle design. This eagle is holding its wings up as it grasps arrows and an olive branch with its talons. The eagle is partially surrounded by a wreath. The lower portion of the design shows the face value and mintmark.
