Originally, the Morgan silver dollar was issued from 1878 through 1904. However, these coins were also minted in 1921. This Morgan silver dollar was struck at the Denver Mint in 1921. That was the only year these were minted in Denver. There were 20,345,000 of these released. This mintage figure is high compared to other coins of the series.

Powerful Liberty and Bald Eagle Designs by Morgan

The obverse of this coin shows a detailed Liberty design by George T. Morgan. These coins are called Morgan dollars because he created the obverse and reverse designs. There are 13 stars that can be seen along the lower edge of the design, the date is among them.

If you're looking for the "D" mintmark, it can be found on the reverse near the face value. The design on this side shows a bald eagle in a powerful looking position.
