Powerful Liberty Design by Christian Gobrecht

Obverse: The obverse bears Christian Gobrecht's left-side portrait of Liberty. The youthful figure dons a coronet that bears an inscription of her name, "LIBERTY," and has her hair held back in a bun. Her effigy is encircled by thirteen stars and an inscription of the date, "1907."

Reverse: Gobrecht also designed the reverse, on which an eagle spreads its wings. The bird holds arrows and an olive branch while protecting a union shield. Along the rim are inscriptions of the name of the issuing country, "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," and an abbreviation of the coin's face value, "2 1/2 D."

Beautifully Preserved MS65 with Green Label

The experts at Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) certified that this piece is in Mint State 65 condition. That means that it was struck well and shows no traces of wear. This piece also qualified to carry NGC's prestigious Green Label which was developed in collaboration between the grading company and one of the leading numismatic distributors in the United States, Rare Coin Company of America (RARCOA). To carry the Green Label a coin must first be identified by RARCOA for meeting a set of guidelines pertaining to strike, luster, eye-appeal or toning, before then being submitted to NGC where it is reviewed again for grading and encapsulation.
