Why add this NGC Mint State 65 1907 $20 Gold Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle No Motto to your collection?

This 1907 $20 Gold Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle - No Motto achieved the high Mint State 65 grade from the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC).

The United States Mint began striking the new $20 Double Eagle in 1907. The coin redesign was brought about by a request from President Theodore Roosevelt. The previous designs on circulating gold currency had been used for over fifty years and Roosevelt felt that there needed to be a change. To that end, he contacted Augustus Saint-Gaudens, then the most famous sculptor in the United States and, coincidentally, the designer of Mr. Roosevelt's Presidential Medal. These coins contain .9675 oz. of pure gold. They circulated in the United States until the minting of gold coins was stopped by executive order.

The obverse of the coin features the figure of Lady Liberty walking forward with confidence. Overhead in her right hand she carries the Torch of Enlightenment and in her left, she carries the olive branch of Peace. Behind her we see the U.S. Capitol building as we see the fields of the coin taken up with the rays of the sun. The reverse of the coin features an eagle in flight backlit with the sun. This version does not feature the phrase "In God We Trust."

The Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle is regarded as the most beautiful coin in U.S. numismatics, order your No Motto Mint State 65 1907 $20 Gold from ModernCoinMart today!
