Why add the 1904-S Liberty Head $20 Gold Double Eagle NGC MS64 Green Label to your collection?
Third party grading firm Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) graded this 1904-S Liberty Head $20 Gold Double Eagle at the wildly desirable Mint State 64 (MS64) level and encapsulated it with NGC's distinctive Green Label, which was the result of a collaboration between NGC and Rare Coin Company of America (RARCOA).
Iconic Double Eagle Design
Obverse: James B. Longacre designed this portrait of Liberty. She is depicted wearing small crown with her hair gathered at the back of her head. Thirteen stars appear along the rim of the coin around her head. The date appears centered below her neck.
Reverse: The reverse features a heraldic bald eagle displayed, which means with chest exposed and wings and legs spread. The eagle's breast is protected by a shield. The eagle holds arrows and an olive branch and appears beneath the motto "In God We Trust." .
Attractive MS64 Green Label
Mint State 64 coins have good strikes, attractive design details and appealing mint luster. To earn the right to bear the Green Label a coin must first be identified by experts at RARCOA for possessing elements such as booming luster, attractive toning, strong strike, and eye-appeal. Such coins are then submitted to NGC where they are graded and encapsulated.
