Why does this 1904-O Morgan Silver Dollar belong in your collection?
The Morgan Silver Dollar series was annually issued by the U.S. Mint from 1878-1904. In 1921, the coin reappeared for single year of issue before its replacement by the Peace Dollar the same year. During the series' hiatus, in 1909, the Mint's facility in New Orleans, Louisiana, was officially decommissioned as a mint. This 1904 dated coin represents the final Morgan Dollar release from the New Orleans Mint.
Stunning Personification of Liberty
Obverse: Lady Liberty is depicted on the obverse as a young woman wearing a Phrygian cap, which is embellished with an agriculturally themed garland, and engraved with the word LIBERTY" on the headband. Inscriptions include "E PLURIBUS UNUM" and "1904."

The coin's designs are the work of assistant engraver George T. Morgan, the sculptor who was appointed as the Mint's seventh Chief Engraver in 1917.
Exquisite Mint State 66
This 1904-O Morgan Silver Dollar received the remarkably high grade of Mint State 66 from the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) for its superb strike, magnificent degree of original Mint luster and fabulous eye appeal. The coin is sonically sealed in a NGC protective holder with a Green style certification label, the development of which represents a collaboration between the NGC and RARCOA (Rare Coin Company of America). The appearance of this label means that before the coin completed the NGC's rigorous grading process, it also met or exceeded a standardized set of guidelines regarding luster, strike and eye appeal agreed upon by a RARCOA team of independent numismatic experts.
