Why does this impressively graded 1904-O Morgan Silver Dollar deserve a place in your collection?
The original Morgan Dollar Series was issued by the U.S. Mint from 1878-1921, with a break in the production of the coin from 1905-1920. During that break, the Mint's New Orleans branch was decommissioned, making this 1904-O Morgan Dollar the final release of the series from that location. The design of the iconic silver dollar is credited to George T. Morgan, the seventh U.S. Mint Chief Engraver.
- This Morgan Silver Dollar contains 0.7734 Troy oz. of .900 fine silver.
- The 38.10 mm diameter coin is dated 1904.

- The coin is part of a 3,720,000 piece mintage.
Gorgeous Personification of Liberty
Obverse: Lady Liberty is portrayed on the obverse as a young woman wearing a Phrygian cap. A stunning array of foliage from cotton, oak and wheat plants is tucked into the headband of the cap, which is engraved with the word "LIBERTY." The image is surrounded by a border formed from the inscriptions "E PLURIBUS UNUM" and "1904," along with thirteen stars.
Reverse: The image of a bald eagle with outstretched wings is centered on the reverse. In its talons it clutches an olive branch as a symbol of peace, and a bundle of arrows, which is emblematic of the nation's military readiness to defend and preserve that peace. Inscriptions include "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "IN GOD WE TRUST," "ONE DOLLAR" and the New Orleans Mint mark "O."
