Why Order This MS64 Toned 1904-O Morgan Dollar from the Great Montana Collection?

During the late 1800s and early 1900s, the Morgan silver dollar was a part of daily life for many Americans. The coin shown here was struck at the New Orleans branch of the U.S. Mint in 1904. Mintage of this coin was a bit low, there were only 3,720,000 of these struck. Additionally, the specimen shown here displays toning and it was also a part of the Great Montana Collection. This coin hoard was discovered in 1998 and over 17,000 coins were recovered from it.

Impressive Patriotic Designs by Morgan

Both sides of this coin feature designs by George T. Morgan, which is where the name Morgan dollar comes from. The obverse displays the date and Morgan's portrait of Liberty.

The reverse shows Morgan's classic bald eagle design. The lower portion of this design displays the mintmark and face value.

MS64 Toned

The experts at the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation certified this silver dollar. Since it's in choice uncirculated condition, it was awarded the grade of Mint State 64. The fact that it came from the Great Montana Collection is on the label.
