Why order this Type 3 $20 Gold 1904 Liberty Head Double Eagle?

This 1904 Gold $20 Liberty Head Double Eagle would make a fantastic addition to any collection of classic American coins. It is the third of three types in the series, distinguished from Type 1 in that it includes the national motto, "IN GOD WE TRUST," and distinguished from Types 1 and 2 in that it has the coin's face value spelled out rather than abbreviated at "TWENTY D." Struck from .9675 oz. of .900 fine gold, this coin was part of a mintage of 6,256,699 pieces that were struck at the Philadelphia Mint in 1904.

Classic Liberty Head Design by James B. Longacre

James B. Longacre designed both faces of this double eagle. On the obverse, Liberty wears a coronet that bears an inscription of her name, "LIBERTY." The young figure has long, curly hair that falls down the back of her neck.

The reverse features a common theme in American numismatics that originated with the Great Seal of the United States. An eagle guards a union shield. Thirteen stars are arranged in an oval shape above its head, and within them is the national motto, "IN GOD WE TRUST."

Well Preserved MS62

This coin received a Mint State 62 grade from Professional Coin Grading Services (PCGS). That means that it has never been in circulation and lacks any evidence of wear.
