Detailed Liberty Head Design

The Liberty Head design was quite popular during its lengthy time in circulation and it is still a favorite of collectors today. These iconic designs were created by Christian Gobrecht. The obverse of this coin shows Gobrecht's depiction of Liberty and the date.

A bald eagle can be seen on the reverse. This eagle is highly detailed. Its wings are spread and it has a shield over its chest. The face value is also displayed on this side.
