Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) recently graded this 1902-O Morgan Silver Dollar at the solidly collectible Mint State 63 (MS63) level. The U.S. branch mint in New Orleans had two separate periods of production. The initial period of production lasted from1838 until 1861 at the beginning of the Civil War. The second period was from 1879 until 1909. The series was struck from 1878 until 1904 and again in 1921. Each Morgan Dollar was struck on a 90% fine silver planchet that contains .7734 oz. of silver bullion.

Great Southern Treasury Hoard MS63 Example
Mint State 63 coins are uncirculated, lustrous examples with solid eye appeal. The Great Southern Treasury Hoard is a recently found collection of thirteen sealed U.S. Treasury canvas bags. All of the Morgan Dollars were struck at the New Orleans branch of the U.S. Mint. The entire collection was certified by NGC.
