Striking Indian Head Design by James Longacre
Obverse: The obverse features James Longacre's Indian Head design. Liberty is shown in left-side profile wearing a feathered headdress, the band of which bears an inscription of her name. Inscriptions along the rim read, "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and "1902."
Reverse: "ONE CENT" is inscribed in large font at the center of Longacre's reverse design. It is encircled by an open wreath and a union shield.
