Why purchase this Brilliant Uncirculated 1898 Morgan Silver Dollar?
The U.S. Mint issued the Morgan Silver Dollar from 1878-1921, featuring a design by George T. Morgan, an assistant engraver who was named as the Mint's Chief Engraver in 1917. This example, struck in 1898, is specially packaged to honor Annie Oakley, the most skilled female sharpshooter of the late 19th century. While traveling with Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show, she met Lakota Sioux Chief Sitting Bull, who named her "Little Sure Shot." In 1898, Annie advocated for women's rights to serve in the military, offering to assist in their training. The offer was not accepted by President McKinley.

Magnificently Detailed Patriotic Designs
Obverse: The obverse features a female personification of Liberty wearing a Phrygian cap with "LIBERTY" engraved on the headband. The cap is ornamented with a garland of foliage, to symbolize the nation's pride in agricultural advancements. The left facing portrait is surrounded by thirteen stars in honor of the original colonies, the date "1898" and "E PLURIBUS UNUM."
Reverse: The reverse depicts an eagle grasping an olive branch and three arrows, with a laurel wreath sweeping below. Inscribed "IN GOD WE TRUST," "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and "ONE DOLLAR." The lack of a Mint mark confirms the coin's Philadelphia Mint origin.
